Make Your Mark For Literacy! Friday, March 7
This Friday, March 7, from noon until 7:00pm, our club will be having our special community event for Pi Phi's National Day of Service. The "Make Your Mark for Literacy" event will be held at the front door of Hastings Entertainment in Kerrville on Main Street!
On Friday, we will be asking Hastings visitors to sign a bookplate...for each bookplate, a child will receive a free book, donated by Pi Beta Phi's partner, FirstBook. Through this event, up to 50,000 books will be donated throughout the U.S. to low-income children in community-based mentoring and literacy programs.
Listen to The Rose Radio, 104.9fm in Kerrville, on Friday morning at 7:15am to hear me and Deb Johnson on the air, talking about our event! And, the event was featured in this weekend's edition of the Kerrville Daily Times (click on the photo above to see a full-size view).
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help man the bookplate signing table. If you'd like to help out for an hour or two, please let me know! president@ringching.com. If you are unable to volunteer, I hope you will take the time to stop by and sign a bookplate.
